Canvas N Chrome

Its been 4 years since our inception & the very first event that Canvas N chrome started off with was the “Lakeside Camping @ Lonavala” !

To relive those wonderful memories, We plan to go Camping (albeit no-frills this time) on the banks of a serene & isolated lake where we let you take in the experience of pitching your own tents; Probably make a couple of dozens of wishes on falling stars; Survive the nip of the winter chill with a Toasty Bonfire; Sleep comfortably in spacious tents; Wake up to the surreal sight of rising mist on the lake; All in all, just relax & rejuvenate in a beautiful location.

So pack the rucksack, charge the camera, get into your Car/Bike, & join us to Experience True Camping at a Rustic Lake Side location!!!

You also have the option of travelling to Lonavala by train / bus and transport to the campsite and back will be arranged.

 

 

 

Detailed Itinerary: Saturday, 16th Dec 2017

 

• Finish an early brunch and meet at Panvel @ 12 noon.

• Introductions and instructions (~0.25hrs)

• Start the ride/drive towards Lonavala via Old Mumbai Pune highway

• Reach Khopoli - 10 Minute Halt @ Khopoli just before the ghats begin & then ride non-stop to Lonavala

• Tea and Washroom Break at Lonavala. This will also be the meeting spot for people joining us from Pune or from another location. Meet-up at Kumar resort by 14:15 hrs and depart for camping spot by 14:45 hrs

• Ride to the lake camping spot.

• Park vehicles at one end and commence trek along edge of the lake to reach the spot where camp will be set up. (Note: People sharing a tent will have to take turns carrying their tents and mats during the trek)

• Clear the area, set up tents and settle down to enjoy the evening.

• Guests are free to trek along the lake, click pictures or indulge in games at the camping spot.

• Dinner will have to be carried by participants and can be had anytime as per convenience.

• Enjoy star-gazing and the serenity of the campsite by the lake.

• Lights out at 23:30 hrs - a time which will have to be respected for the cconvenience of all guests.

 

Sunday, 17th Dec 2017

• Wake up to a beautiful dawn by the lake

• Pack up the tents, mats, sleeping bags etc. (All packing to be done by respective tent occupants)

• Trek back to the parking spot and hand over the tents and equipment to the team.

• Start the ride / drive back from the campsite.

• En route stop for a hot veg breakfast in Lonavala or elsewhere en route.

 

   Important Notes:

 

• All camp rules laid out at the campsite need to be adhered to which includes: No Alcohol, No Swimming, & Needless to mention, No Drugs!

• To ensure that guests can make the most of the Serene & Peaceful location, No Speakers/Music from Phone at Loud volume would be permitted

• A Guitar/Flute/Or any other musical instrument is however most welcome @ the Camp Fire

• A sturdy & comfortable haversack advisable – To stock all the gear.

• A good torch is compulsory

• Min 2 liters of drinking water is compulsory

• Guests are required to carry their own plate, spoon and glass for the trip to avoid the need for plastic / disposable plates for serving of food.

• Provision for Sleeping Bag/Mat can be made at a small fee for those who don't have one

• Closed Toilet/Bathroom facility is NOT available at the Campsite

• The lights out time needs to be honored & Guests wanting to sit up late & chat need to move away from the camping area

   Our Belief System:

 

• Possession and/or consumption of Alcohol will not be permitted & flouting of this basic rule will lead to immediate expulsion from the group.

• Smoking will only be permitted after consultation with the Leader and the person will have to move away from the group to smoke. Smoking will only be permitted while we stop at a clearing and not otherwise.

• The leader’s decision will be final and binding on all members. No Arguments will be entertained.

• Each member will be responsible for his/her own safety and baggage.

• Please do not wear any jewellery or gold chains/rings.

• Please do not litter, we believe in the saying, “Leave only footprints, Take back only memories”
