Ride / drive the smooth Mumbai - Pune Highway, spend the evening & morning taking a lazy row boat ride in the lake, learn about the migratory birds that make the lake their home during winters, & enjoy piping hot, home-made dinner and stay in a village house.. Not to mention, get away from the crazy crowd of Mumbai and enjoy the winter evening and morning chill amidst the wetlands of Bhigwan..

Detailed Itinerary: Saturday

 

  • Meet at Panvel at Shree Dutta Snacks at 6 a.m.

  • Introductions and Instructionss (~0.25hrs)

  • Commence Ride / drive to Pune via Old-Mumbai Pune highway

  • Breakfast & Tea en route (~0.5hrs)

  • Reach Pune by 10 a.m. Guests from Pune can join us at the Pune Bypass

  • Commence journey towards Baramati / Bhigwan

  • Stop for lunch en route.

  • Reach Bhigwan by 1:30 p.m.

  • Freshen up and leave for the boat safari by 3 p.m.

  • Enjoy the guided boat safari and take in the beautiful surroundings and get picctures of the winged inhabitants and visitors.

  • Post the boat safari, return to the guest house.

  • Relax and exchange notes on the various sightings.

  • Have dinner and retire early to ensure one is fresh for the morning sojourn.

 

Day 2 : Sunday

  • Early wake-up call at 6 a.m.

  • Freshen up, have tea / coffee and leave for the morning boat ride at 6:45 a.m.

  • Return to the Guest house by 10 a.m.

  • Freshen up and breakfast at 10:30 a.m.

  • Commence return journey by 11 a.m.

  • Stop for lunch en route.

 

 Important Notes:

 

  • Wearing full clothes (Track pants + Full sleeve Shirt/Tshirt) is advisable – Prevents cuts & bruises & also protects from insect bites.

  • Track pants advisable 

  • Trekking/Sports shoes advisable – Covered feet provide safety from stubbing your toes on rocks, etc and also from insect bite.

  • Extra Floaters/Footwear advisable 

  • A sturdy & comfortable haversack advisable – To stock all the gear & keep hands free.

  • A good torch is compulsory 

  • Clean common bathroom and toilet facility is available at the guest house. Both Indian and Western toilets available.

 

 

Our Belief System:

 

  • Possession and/or consumption of Alcohol will not be permitted & flouting of this basic rule will lead to immediate expulsion from the group.

  • Smoking will only be permitted after consultation with the Leader and the person will have to move away from the group to smoke. Smoking will only be permitted while we stop at a clearing and not otherwise.

  • The leader’s decision will be final and binding on all members. No Arguments will be entertained.

  • Lights out time will have to be respected to ensure rest and ccomfort of all guests

  • Each member will be responsible for his/her own safety and baggage.

  • Please do not wear any jewelry or gold chains/rings.

  • Please do not litter, we believe in the saying, “Leave only footprints, Take back only memories”
