Vintage Vistas - Hampi Badami Aihole

                              Pattadakkal

Take a walk down the annals of time as we take you to some of the most beautiful archeological sites and ruins in the country - to Hampi, Badami, Aihole and Pattadakkal!

Hampi, one of the grandest & richest cities of the erstwhile Vijayanagar Empire is now a renowned UNESCO world heritage site. The undulating landscape strewn with boulders of all sizes and shapes is interspersed with magnificent temples, palaces, bazaars, pushkarnis, & sculptures which even though in ruins, have a surreal & bewitching appeal about them that attract people from all over the world. Add to this the lush greenery after the rains, the gushing Tungabhadra, the beautiful banana/paddy plantations and it all adds up to a beautiful scenic destination.

At a distance of 135 Kms from Hampi are the sites of Aihole, Pattadakal, & Badami, which all belong to the Powerful Chalukya Empire and provide an insight into the various stages of Architecture in the region from the nascent to evolved. Aihole with its rough cut temples & structures offer a stark contrast to the skilled carvings of temples & caves in Badami & Pattadakal.
