Hampi, one of the grandest & richest cities of the erstwhile Vijayanagar Empire is now a renowned UNESCO world heritage site. The undulating landscape strewn with boulders of all sizes and shapes is interspersed with magnificent temples, palaces, bazaars, pushkarnis, & sculptures which even though in ruins, have a surreal & bewitching appeal about them that attract people from all over the world.

Detailed Itinerary: Friday, 24th March, 2016

Reach Hospet early morning and transfer to Hampi and the guest house.

Freshen up and head out for some sight-seeing near Hampi Bazaar. Visit the Virupaksha temple, the Ganeshas, Hemkuta hill, Krishna temple & Bazaar, the Laxmi Narasimha, etc.

Lunch en route and continue sight seeing.

Visit the famed Vitthala temple and Pushkarni and catch the sunset at Hemkuta hill.
-
Return to the guest house late evening and head out for dinnner to one of the many restaurants.. especially the highly recommended Mango Tree restaurant.
Saturday, 24th March, 2016

Early morning trek up to the matanga hill for a view of the sunrise and a birds eye view of Hampi.

Back for breakfast and freshening up and head out again to cover more of the historic sites

Visit the Lotus Temple, Royal Enclosure, Queen's bath, Hazara Rama temple, etc.

Lunch en route or back at Hampi Bazaar
-
Head off again to see the Achutaraya temple and the nearby Pushkarni.
Sunday, 25th March, 2016

Early morning visit to Malyavanta temple.
-
Post breakfast leave for the Daroji bear sanctuary to catch sight of some bears.

Back for lunch and check out of the hotel.

Head to Hospet for onward connection.

Should any of the guests wish to extend their stay in Hampi and visit either Anegudi or Badami, Aihole, Pattadakalu, etc. the same can be arranged. The cost for the same will bee communicated upo request.

From Mumbai/Pune: Bus is the most convenient way to get to Hospet (13kms from Hampi)
There are regular A/c Volvo & Mercedes Buses which ply between Mumbai/Pune & Hospet.
From Bangalore: There are regular A/c & Non A/c buses & Hampi Express (Train) runs daily between Bangalore & Hospet.
For Hospet to Hampi: Rickshaws are available for travel between Hospet & Hampi and generally cover the distance in 30 mins.

Smoking will only be permitted after consultation with the group leader and the person will have to move away from the group to smoke. Smoking will only be permitted while we stop at a clearing and not otherwise.

The leader’s decision will be final and binding on all members. No Arguments will be entertained.
