The Kaas plateau blooms into a riot of colours (one or many) post the monsoon. September end or Oct beginning is the best time to visit and so we have arranged a trip to coincide with this phenomenon of bloom.

 

Visit the wind farm at Chalkewadi, see the Koyna backwaters & enjoy a ride / drive through the curving mountain roads besides, of course, visiting the kaas plateau. :-)

We have planned the trip such that you have the option to Ride/drive to Kaas and enjoy the roadtrip + stay or you can choose to travel to Satara by train / overnight bus and you will be met by a taxi which will pick you up to join the group for sightseeing and drop you back to the exit point of the bus / train station. So pick your preference!

The journey is a long one and the aim is to reach Satara by noon so an early start is warranted.

Guests from Pune can join in en route. The meeting point and time will be ccommunicated on registration.

Reach Satara and freshen up and post lunch, leave for Chalkewadi and the windmill farms

Reach Satara by 4 / 4:30 a.m. where you will be met by a pvt taxi. The taxi will transport you to the hotel for freshening up and for breakfast. Early morning leave for Kaas plateau to avoid the traffic, crowds and chaos. It is also better light for photography.

 

Visit Kaas and the Koyna backwaters along with the group.

Post sightseeing, the taxi will drop you to the bus / train station from where you can travel back home.

• Possession and/or consumption of Alcohol will not be permitted & flouting of this basic rule will lead to immediate expulsion from the group.

• Smoking will only be permitted after consultation with the group leader and the person will have to move away from the group to smoke. Smoking will only be permitted while we stop at a clearing and not otherwise.

• The leader’s decision will be final and binding on all members. No Arguments will be entertained.

• Each member will be responsible for his/her own safety and baggage.

• Please do not litter, we believe in the saying, “Leave only footprints, Take back only memories”

IMPORTANT NOTE: The bloom at Kaas is a natural phenomenon and cannot be predicted or guaranteed. The trip is planned to coincide with the historical blooming dates but we cannot guarantee the flowering. It is subject to weather and natural elements.

Cancellation Policy

Between 45 - 30 days: 25% of the Trip Cost

Between 29 - 20 days: 50% of the Trip Cost

Between 19 - 10 days: 75% of the Trip Cost

Less than 9 days from date of departure: 100% of the Trip Cost
