WALK IN THE WILDERNESS - MONSOON TREK TO TUNG FORT
The charm of the first rains is unmatched with the aroma of the wet earth filling the air and little green leaves/grass peeking out from the earth. The first rains also dispel the heat of summer and bring much needed relief to the parched lands.
Our plan is to head out a relatively less frequented fort of Tung or Kathingad to try and catch the first onslaught of the rains.
The fort of Tung is located at an altitude a little higher than Lonavala and offers one a commanding view of the Backwaters of the Pawna Dam. The easy trek up the fort along with its beautiful location make it and enjoyable hike for Adults and Children alike.
Join Canvas N Chrome as we head off into the wilderness not too far away from the Hill station of Lonavala.

-
Wearing full clothes (Track pants + Full sleeve Shirt/Tshirt) is advisable – Prevents cuts & bruises while walking through the forest & also protects from insect bites.
-
Jeans can get uncomfortable on treks & also tend to soak & retain water if it rains; avoid as far as possible
-
Trekking/Sports shoes advisable – Covered feet provide safety from stubbing your toes on rocks, etc and also from insect bite.
-
Extra Floaters/Footwear advisable – Sports shoes tend to open up/tear during treks through rain & having an extra pair of floaters helps.
-
A sturdy & comfortable haversack/backpack advisable – Helps one balance better, keeps the hands free, & needless to add helps keep all your belongings safe.
-
Packing of all essentials in polythene advisable – To protect from getting wet in the rain.
-
A good torch is always a recommended companion on any trek.
-
2 liters of water is compulsory.
