Valley of Flowers - a UNESCO Biodiversity heritage site - is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The trek is famed for its route as much as for the carpets of flowers that cover the valley in July, August and beginning of September.
Visit the region in July when the whole area is lush green with multiple waterfalls dotting the landscape and when dew laden carpets of flowers cover the valley. :-)

Day 1: Rishikesh
Day 2: Rishikesh to Govindghat (non-AC taxi)
Day 3: Trek from Govindghat to Ghangaria
Day 4: Trek to Valley of Flowers Trail - Overnight in Ghangaria
Day 5: Trek to Hemkund Saheb - Overnightight in Ghangaria
Day 6: Trek back to Govindghat - overnight in Govindghat
Day 7: Govindghat to Rishikesh (non-AC taxi)

The trek is a moderate grade trek and does not require prior trekking experience.

The trek from Ghangharia to Hemkund ascends from 9,900 ft to 14,100 ft. and can be strenuous and taxing.
